Who we are

Our website address is: https://learnarabicwithmanar.com. Our Youtube channel is: Learn Arabic with Manar. We are an educational project engaged in language instruction of Syrian/Levantine Arabic to non-native speakers.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Members

We do not currently offer memberships. If we opt to do so in the future, we would collect necessary data, such as contact information as provided by the membership registration form and historical data about your usage of our site to facilitate your access to our services.

Customers

If you purchase products from us we collect the minimum data required to facilitate the purchase, communicate with you, and provide the product. We currently use Stripe and PayPal as our payment processors, and we do not keep any financial data on our own systems. In the future we reserve the right to use other payment processing services without notice. We ONLY know about you what you tell us, and we do NOT sell or transfer your data to third parties.

Comments

If visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. Some data may be stored on your machine in the form of a small file, called a ‘cookie’, for future reference. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

When you join our maillist, make a purchase, or leave a comment on our site you are opting-in to allowing us to retain your name, email address and relevant metadata.

Embedded content from other websites

It’s possible that links on our site or in our digital products might take you to other sites. We endeavor to make sure that all such links are safe and serve a reasonable purpose, but we cannot be responsible for problems created by other sites and services than our own.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Analytics

We do some basic analytics on our traffic, our members and our customers to help us determine what content and services are most effective and popular. We are a teaching site and we are always looking to improve our methods and our services through this process. None of our analytics involve personal or privileged information.

Who we share your data with

At this time, no one. If we enter into agreements with others to share data, we will update this space at least 15 days before such sharing becomes active. We will always give you an opportunity to opt-out of data sharing if you wish.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up communications automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

If you purchase from us, we store the data you provide indefinitely.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, have made a purchase, or have left comments, you can request at any time to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you and we will do so. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

If you wish at any time to receive an export of the data we hold about you, simply send an email to [email protected] with the word ‘export’ in the subject line. If you wish us to delete your data, write the word ‘delete’ in the subject line. We will delete your data from our system and send you an email that lists the data we have deleted for your information.

How we protect your data

Our site uses over-the-counter e-commerce and member tracking software. Our site uses WordPress and other third-party platform tools. We endeavor to protect ALL our data from intrusion or attack, but your use of our site and/or our services constitutes your acknowledgement that we cannot be responsible for data breaches caused by vulnerabilities not under our control and/or unknown to us.
